As a 2026 guide, $18,000 to $46,000 for most single-storey houses depending on construction, and $40,000 to $70,000 or more for two-storey or steep hillside houses. Asbestos removal is additional.
Is my fibro house full of asbestos?
Quite possibly. Fibro houses built before about 1990 very commonly contain asbestos cement. A survey confirms it, and removal is by separately licensed asbestos removalists.
How long does demolition take?
Three to six working days on site for a typical single-storey house, after approval, asbestos removal and disconnections.
Do I need approval?
Generally yes. Many houses qualify for a complying development certificate; others need a development application with Central Coast Council.
Who handles water and sewer disconnection?
On the Central Coast, water and sewer are Central Coast Council services. A licensed plumber caps the sewer. Electricity is removed by the network operator via a Level 2 electrician.
Can you work on steep blocks?
Yes. Steep sites are common in Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca and Gosford. They take more time and are priced from the site.
Do you remove pools?
Yes — concrete and fibreglass, by full removal or break-and-fill.
